Full-time & Part-time Registered Nurses needed for our Level 1 Surgical WardGreat opportunity to develop your skills and grow within our supportive teamPotential to work across multiple departments with a varied case-mixNewcastle Private Hospital is seeking Full-Time and Part-time Registered Nursing applicants to join our Surgical Ward team on Level 1.
You'll be based primarily on our specialty Vascular/Cardiac ward; however, you have the ability to pick up shifts across the other surgical ward areas as these become available, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills further.

We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park.
The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit.
A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region.
Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include: Undertake acute nursing care in accordance with legislationDeliver evidence-based nursing careLiaise with the multi-disciplinary teamEnsure patient and staff safetySupervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and (AINs) to deliver patient careProactively assess the perioperative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual / patientComplete all required documentation in accordance with local and National PoliciesCurrent registration with AHPRA as a Registered NurseCurrent valid Australian Work rightsMinimum of 2 years' relevant post registration qualificationsDemonstrated experience working within an acute surgical setting and exposure to Vascular / Cardiac nursing preferableDemonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiatives using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a supportive team.Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient centred careDemonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills.Flexibility to a seven-day roster including night dutyWhy Healthscope? If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses' and Midwives' – Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024" (salaries range between $35.46 and $49.79 per hour).
