Job Summary:
Reporting to the Theatre Management Team, you will play a critical role in providing anaesthesia care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This position requires a high level of expertise in anaesthetic techniques, patient monitoring, and collaborative care within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for anaesthesia, including physical assessments and reviewing medical histories.
Monitor patients' vital signs and response to anaesthesia during surgery.
Provide post-anaesthesia care, including pain management and monitoring recovery.
Assist in the development and implementation of anaesthetic care plans.
Ensure all equipment and supplies are prepared and maintained for anaesthesia procedures.
Educate patients and their families about anaesthesia procedures and post-operative care.
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
Registered Nurse with current Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia registration with AHPRA.
7 years' experience in Anaesthetics with exceptional clinical skills.
Anaesthetic Qualification.
Membership of professional associations.
Demonstrable leadership qualities and competence to be a preceptor for junior staff.
Ability to deliver outstanding clinical care and display standards of excellence while fulfilling the designated functions in the day surgery environment.
Demonstrable knowledge and application of policies and procedures within the anaesthetic domain.
Ability to establish interpersonal relationships and collaborate with the wider healthcare team to improve the quality of patient care.
Excellent verbal and written communication with computer literacy.
Commitment to continually engage in Quality Improvement in line with accreditation requirements.
