The Department of Health is seeking skilled and self-motivated Registered Nurses to join the Short Stay Suite at the Royal Hobart Hospital, focusing on both surgical and endoscopy nursing.
Job Description: Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families, and other health professionals.
Works as part of a dynamic and innovative team across multiple areas of the suite.Works in a dynamic, fast-paced, and well-supported unit.Offers a diverse range of work options and opportunities.Enjoys professional development support and a work-life balance.The Role: Collaborates with members of the healthcare team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care.Interacts effectively with patients'/clients' families and other health team members to facilitate optimum patient/client care.Actively involved in maintaining and continually improving the quality of patient/client care, including participation in research and evidence-based practice.Identifies and meets the educational needs of patients/clients and their families/significant others.The Team: The Short Stay Suite is a component of the Perioperative Precinct, incorporating Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA), Holding Bay, Same Day Discharge (SDD), a 19 bed Surgical Ward, and a state-of-the-art standalone Endoscopy Suite.The Short Stay Suite is a fast-paced, high turnover unit providing many learning opportunities across a diverse range of nursing care skill sets.Salary: $75,902 to $102,908 per annum, with an 11.5% superannuation contribution on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.Access to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 - $102,908 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.Access to salary packaging and a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.In addition, the following allowances may be available:
Payment of $15,000 staged over three years for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of the relocation allowance already available.Benefits available to eligible candidates: Professional development and accelerated pathways.Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.Fitness Passport – access to 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Essential Criteria: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
