Location:We are seeking a permanent Registered Nurse to join us at the Roy Fagan Centre, Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS), a specialised facility, located a short drive from the centre of Hobart.

Duties: With a focus on engagement, work in collaboration with the consumers, their family, or carers, to plan, implement and evaluate nursing care that is evidence-based, person-centred, and trauma-informed.Function as an active member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to provide care to all consumers of the service, which includes biopsychosocial assessments, active, therapeutic engagement, monitoring and review of mental state and response to treatments, and updates to the care plan in consultation with the individual consumer, their carers and the MDT.Complete all required clinical documentation, including assessments, risk assessment, transfer of care, relevant clinical correspondence, and clinical data collection, within specified timeframes, predominantly via electronic consumer records systems.Under general direction, actively participate in research and quality improvement activities that are expected to advance the practice of nursing, including the use of the National Standards for Mental Health Services.Contribute to a strong team approach through open communication by participating in team meetings and committees that enhance the function of the Unit, consumer care and teamwork.Act as a Mental Health Officer/Approved Nurse when required and adhere to all relevant legislation.The Roy Fagan Centre offers: A safe and respectful work environment that recognises individual employee need.A collaborative team approach to care (employing the My Home Life Program to support culture and team morale).Salary packaging.Free Parking.Details of Appointment: Permanent, full time, shift-worker position working up to 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.Salary: $75,902 - $102,908 per annum.
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
Possess or be working towards a specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification, or completed prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, a hospital based training program that resulted in previous registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse registration authority within Australia.The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
