MHS provides the families of Roebourne with a fully functional and accredited Clinic that treats approximately 3,000 people per year.

The Position The role of Registered Nurse is to have responsibilities in the provision of person-centered clinical care, preventative health and health promotion.
The Registered Nurse will provide evidence based clinical care and health promotion advice to the local community and others who use the service.

Clinical and other services 
Provide and initiate primary health care clinical nursing assessments and services as required Work collaboratively with members of the clinical team to ensure the effective delivery of clinical care to patients Participate in case conferencing as necessary.
Assist the GPs with procedures.
Collaborate closely with GPs and visiting specialists on care of patients.
Provide advice, education and referrals as necessary.
Manage patient immunisations including the recording on AIR.
Oversee the management of patient recalls and reminders for the clinic.
Ensure all recalling of patients for treatments is up-to-date at all times.
Perform routine pathology tests, screening and other technical tasks such as ECGs, wound management and administration of medicationPromote Medicare billing in the service consistent with laws governing Medicare and in a manner that optimises Medicare billing arrangementsEducation and health promotion 
Work in collaboration with other staff at Mawarnkarra and take a leadership role in implementing education and health promotion for patients and the community.
In collaboration with other staff including the Chronic Disease Coordinator, participate in chronic disease management of patients and provide education to patients and families on care, chronic disease management and health prevention.
In collaboration with other staff, participate in care planning of patients.
Provide education and training to other health service staff on the health needs of patients of the service.
Provide advice, education and referrals for patients as necessary.
Ensure that the integrity of all immunisations is maintained.
Understand cold chain management and maintain the cold chain.
Understand all NHMRC guidelines in respect to vaccine storage and management.
Understand and adhere to the policies developed in regards to vaccine storage and management.
Infection control 
Demonstrate leadership in maintaining infection control principles at all times.
Adhere to all policies and procedures in regards to infection control management.
Educate staff on the principles, and policies and procedures of infection control.
Reporting and data management 
Ensure a clear understanding of Mawarnkarra reporting requirements as relevant to the position.
Maintain and provide records and clinical statistics in preparation for the lodgment of reports and other data collection requirements Quality improvement activities 
Take a leadership role in continual quality improvement in the delivery of client services.
Ensure all standards are maintained consistent with evidence based best practice standards as applicable to the role of Registered Nurse.
Compliance
Maintains compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations including Nursing Registration, working with the nurse's scope of practice, infection control and sterilisation requirements and safe handling/disposal of medical waste, records management and WHS and Accreditation requirements Assists with the maintenance of cold chain systems and other medication storage systems as required by Regulatory bodies.
Networking with other services to improve health care delivery both internally and externally ensuring line leadership supportive of any actions prior to implementation.
Planning and management of care in conjunction with the clinical manager Professional responsibilities 
Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct.
Participate in and contribute to the fulfilment of operational needs of the organisation as they arise.
Demonstrate an understanding of and compliance with all Mawarnkarra policies and procedures.
Participate in maintaining a safe working environment.
Other Duties as reasonably requested by management.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS 
Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical setting (general practice preferred) Attend and participate in the professional development program and relevant external seminars and conferences, as approved  OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION 
Performance will be appraised on an on-going basis and formally at the first 3 months and annually thereafter.

Consent to undergo a Working with Children Check and a National Police Certificate.
Employment is conditional pending the outcome of these checks.
Must hold a current Australian Drivers Licence 
Current CPR Certificate 
All employees are subject to regular random drug and alcohol screening.
