The Maternity Antenatal and Postnatal Service provides continuity of midwifery care throughout the antenatal and postnatal period including midwifery in the home. The model enhances the capacity to provide continuity of midwifery care to medically high risk pregnant women during the antenatal and postnatal periods. The MAPS model will consist of a seven day roster with flexibility around rostered days with no on call. The MAPS Registered Midwife coordinates and delivers high quality, holistic midwifery care to women and families of SWSLHD consistent with SWSLHD policies, procedures and standards. The position reports to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services via the Midwifery Unit Manager Women's Health Outpatients and the Midwifery/Nurse Manager for Women's & Children's Health. Where You'll Be Working: Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation. The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care. Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment.
