Maternity Unit – Inpatient Unit Permanent and Fixed term positions available About the Role Grampians Health Ballarat is seeking a dynamic, energetic midwives to work in the Maternity Unit's Inpatient Unit.
The maternity unit comprises 16 inpatient beds, 3-5 birthing suites and a labour ward triage area.
We are a level 5 maternity service with a level 4 SCN with 8-10 cots on the same floor.
Working within a multidisciplinary team you will be expected to facilitate and foster best practice and service delivery to our clients and their families within the Maternity department.

Key Responsibilities Promote high standards of care by partnering with patients and the community, advocating for patient rights, and supporting evidence-based practices.
Model positive change, engage in midwifery innovations, and participate actively in committees and working groups.
Deliver safe, quality, family-centred care and actively support and promote positive change at both local and organizational levels.
Use organizational resources responsibly and cost-effectively, understand the annual budget framework, and operate within established delegations of authority.
Apply evidence-based midwifery expertise to enhance practice, make timely decisions to meet the needs of patients and staff, participate in decision-making at local and Directorate levels, and support relevant research to improve health outcomes for all cultural groups.
Skills & Experience Hold a current AHPRA registration and practicing certificate, with demonstrated clinical knowledge, organizational skills, and proficiency in using maternity-related ICT.
Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, communicate well with patients, visitors, and staff, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
Commit to ongoing education, engage in evidence-based practice and research, and continuously develop professional skills.
Recent maternity care experience, ability to work across the childbearing continuum, and possession of relevant certifications or qualifications, such as childbirth education or lactation consultancy.
Hold a current driver's license and be prepared to work flexibly as required.
