Exciting opportunities are available for part-time or casual positions as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse as a scrub scout within a supportive Perioperative team at Epworth Geelong, located in Waurn Ponds.
You will work within a variety of surgical specialities, including Orthopaedics, Vascular, General, Macs Facs, ENT, Pain, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, Plastics, Neurosurgery and Urology.
You will make an impact by: Delivering high-quality nursing care to ensure patient safety throughout their theatre journey Proactively evaluate the nursing care provided to achieve optimal patient outcomes To be successful in this role: As a Registered or Enrolled Nurse on a theatre team composed of patient-centred nurses, you are an effective communicator who adapts easily to various situations.
You naturally demonstrate compassion and empathy toward patients.
With a solutions-focused mindset, you prioritise the patient's needs in every decision you make, and you enjoy working collaboratively with your team.
You will have: Current AHPRA registration Previous experience as a Scrub Scout is essential Experience in Urology, Orthopaedics, Vascular, General, Ophthalmology and ENT is highly regarded. Ability to work a rotating roster (mix of AM and PM shifts) Ability to be available for weekend on-call Casual weekend work available Post graduate qualifications in Perioperative Nursing will be highly regarded but not essential Epworth Geelong Epworth Geelong, located adjacent to Deakin University's Medical School in Waurn Ponds, is developing an environment of world-class health care and education to meet the needs of the expanding population of Geelong and South West Victoria.
It features contemporary design, cutting-edge medical technology and best practice patient care, whilst offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical and rehabilitation services.
Our Peri-operative environment consists of 9 Operating Theatres including a Hybrid Theatre, Cath Lab and 2 endoscopy suites.
Located all on the one level we have the Operating Theatre, Cath Lab, ICU and Day Surgery allowing excellent patient flow and best patient care.
As there is an increased demand for the excellence Epworth Geelong provide to its patients and VMO's, our operating theatres are continuing to expand.
Currently our specialities include; Orthopaedics, Vascular, General, Macs Facs, ENT, Pain, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, Plastics, Neurosurgery and Urology.
We operate Monday to Friday with emergencies on weekends which helps provide flexible rostering, giving our staff an excellent work/life balance.
With education as a key motivator for our department we provide multiple opportunities for our staff to develop new skills as well as continue to build on their already strong knowledge base.
