About the role: Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, this role provides direct person centred nursing care and/or individual case management to patients/clients on a shift by shift basis in Anaesthetics and/or PACU.
Duties for the role will include: Plan, prioritise and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies in providing individual health care needs.Recognising, responding and appropriately escalating clinical deterioration, and provide complex care at the bedside of the perioperative patient.Recognise, respond and report other incidents within the department.Actively participate in Quality and Safety Improvement Projects.Provide health promotion and education to patients/clients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of individuals.Support nursing/midwifery practice and learning experiences for students undertaking clinical placements, orientation for new staff and preceptorship of graduates.About you: Effective communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting.Ability to stay calm under pressure, demonstrate appropriate professional behaviours, open to feedback and initiate self-reflection.Commitment to delivering high quality and safe nursing care.Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.Demonstrated competence in Anaesthetic and/or PACU nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards.Please Note: To be considered for the RN2C (Clinical Nurse) level you must have at least three years, full time equivalent, post-registration experience with experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.
