DNA Nursing are currently working with an established aged care provider in Hervey Bay, coastal city in southern Queensland. We are looking for full time Registered Nurses at an established facility just a few minutes walk to the beach. The facility offers all aspects of a resident's care including clinical, social and overall well being and offer dementia and palliative care services, plus pain management which is accessed as short-term respite care or for longer stays. The facility has recently gone through a significant change and is now lead by a passionate and experienced Residential Care Manager alongside a new and equally experienced Care Director. Clinical governance and compassionate care are at the forefront and have an all inclusive work environment with their nursing and care team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide a range of treatments and procedures, including medication administration, nutrition management, and pressure care, ensuring residents' comfort and well-being. Conduct thorough clinical assessments, monitoring vital signs and collecting data to inform effective care plans. Manage wound care and support residents with diabetes and chronic diseases, promoting optimal health outcomes.
Professional Practice
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, maintaining the highest level of ethical and professional conduct. Uphold residents' dignity, cultural sensitivity, and rights while maintaining accurate and comprehensive documentation of care processes. Demonstrate accountability for decisions and actions, contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the facility. Advocate for residents' autonomy and legal capacity, while establishing clear professional boundaries to ensure ethical care delivery. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, utilizing delegation, supervision, and referrals to enhance resident outcomes and safety. Provide residents with information, education, and support, fostering a culture of learning and empowerment within the community.
Job Requirements
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience - ideally in aged care. Dedicated to person-centered care and compassionate communication Skilled in holistic assessments and personalized care plan development. Knowledgeable of relevant legislation and regulations governing clinical practice. Proficient in interpersonal and written communication. Ability to foster therapeutic relationships within a multidisciplinary team. Familiarity with Workplace Health & Safety, infection control, and manual handling protocols.
