The AFP is looking for motivated, skilled, culturally sensitive, customer-focused individuals to meet current and anticipated vacancies at the AFP Vetting Analyst Band 3 level.You will gather information from various sources, process security clearance assessments, and provide timely, high-quality recommendations regarding security clearance outcomes. The AFP is seeking applicants who demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in both written and verbal communications. You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.As a Vetting Analyst, completing security clearance assessments for the AFP you will:Work individually and with your team to assess whether clearance applicants are suitable to hold a security clearance in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and AFP governance frameworks.Manage your own allocation of vetting assessments.Conduct research and review existing holdings.Engage with clearance applicants and external stakeholders to fill gaps in information.Conduct analysis, write assessments, and provide advice that identifies areas for further resolution in the vetting process.You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.Security clearance or investigative/analytical experience.Required Application DocumentationAs part of your Register of Interest you will be required to submit the following documents:Applicant response (pitch – maximum two pages)Resume/CVEmployment SuitabilityShould you successfully progress from the Register of Interest, all applicants must:Complete an Employment Suitability Questionnaire (ESQ) and provide a traffic history check and proof of Australian citizenship. This aids in the assessment of your character and your ability to comply with the AFP's professional standards both in an official and private capacity. Applicants will not receive feedback if they are unsuccessful at this gateway.Have your fingerprints taken if an offer of employment is made.Undertake mandatory drug testing for illicit drugs. This sample could include; urine, saliva, or hair.Proof of a minimum of two COVID-19 vaccinations (or one dose if the Janssen vaccine was used) will be required if an offer of employment is made.Satisfactorily undertake a security clearance to the level specified for the position.
