The AFP Payroll Services deliver fortnightly pays to approximately 8,000 appointees using SAP.
We have a complex and fast-paced operating environment, which means that there is never a dull day and always something new to learn.As a member of the Payroll Services team you will work in the administration of conditions of service and entitlements for AFP appointees including processing of pay, leave and superannuation.
This role supports the delivery of payroll services to AFP appointees by processing payroll transactions, providing advice on pay related matters and monitoring areas of risk.
AFP Payroll is a task based team structure.
You will learn and become proficient in a specific area of Payroll, and then rotate teams to expand your wider overall knowledge of Payroll.Payroll Service Officers are responsible for:Day to day payroll processing in accordance with strict deadlines.Calculating entitlements for staff, including commencements and cessations.Interpreting and providing advice to staff on salaries and related entitlements, leave and general conditions of service in line with the Enterprise Agreement and related legislation, policies and procedures.Undertaking general administrative duties associated with the provision of payroll and financial services to the agency.Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.Participating as a constructive team member to deliver ongoing improvements, quality of service and professional practices and standards.Obtaining subject matter expertise through ongoing development and learning opportunities.Contributing to and implementing improved operational practices, procedures and guidelines.Mentoring staff.Essential RequirementsYou must be an Australian Citizen.A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.Contemporary knowledge and experience in Payroll, Human Resources or a Finance related role.Required Application DocumentationAs part of your Register of Interest you will be required to submit a resume/CV.
