We are excited to invite budding young regional students to apply for our inaugural three-year scholarship, designed to support those pursuing tertiary studies in commerce/accounting.
With a strong history and a large portion of our clients in regional areas, this scholarship is one of the ways we give back to the communities that have supported us.
This annual scholarship offers financial support, career opportunities, and mentorship for students from regional areas who need to live away from home to pursue their first undergraduate degree.
Job DescriptionAbout the Scholarship: The William Buck Regional Scholarship supports students from regional areas who are pursuing a commerce/accounting degree (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Business) at a South Australian university.
Financial Support: The scholarship provides $15,000, distributed as $5,000 per year over three years, to support the completion of an eligible Commerce/Accounting degree.Professional Experience: The successful candidate will receive four weeks of paid work experience at William Buck Adelaide in their second year.Mentorship: A dedicated William Buck graduate mentor will be available for guidance and support throughout the scholarship.Career Opportunities: Potential for employment with William Buck Adelaide upon graduation, based on performance, suitability and available positions.Desired Skills and ExperienceEligibility Criteria: To qualify, applicants must:
Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.Be currently living in regional South Australia and have spent a considerable part of your life there (not discounting those boarding elsewhere during schooling).Be currently completing or have completed their final year of secondary school in 2024.Be enrolled or applying for an accredited undergraduate or graduate-entry Commerce/accounting degree (or equivalent), commencing in 2025 at a South Australian university.Application Process: Deadline: Submit completed applications by 5:00 PM on Thursday, 2nd January, 2025.Required Documents:Completed application form, including responses to all questions.PDF of academic records.Recent photo (.JPG or .PNG format).Selection Process:29 November – Application open2 January – Applications CloseJanuary – Interviews conducted (if required)February – Scholarship awarded (subject to confirmation of placement in the relevant course)Finalists will be notified via email and invited to interviews in January 2025.
