The Asia-Pacific region currently includes Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Singapore employing nearly 3000 team members.

The Role As we continue our transformation and growth journey in the region, we are now looking to appoint aRegional Payroll Manager, Asia Pac to join our team in Melbourne.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, Asia Pac, this is a foundational role which will support our existing ANZ payroll team, while also providing oversight and governance to our teams in Asia Pac as we update and integrate our payroll capabilities in the region.
Operationally, this role will provide hands-on support for the production of the weekly and monthly payrolls in an accurate and timely fashion, along with managing and directing payroll procedures, ensuring compliance with laws and tax obligations, supervising the payroll team, and maintaining accurate payroll records across ANZ.
More strategically, this position will also play a key role in supporting the deployment of new payroll systems and processes within an outsourced environment across our operations in Singapore, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.
Critical to the success of this role will be your knowledge and understanding of payroll practices within complex businesses, extending to a track record in time and attendance systems incorporating industrial instruments, rates, pay rules and calculations.
Furthermore, a strong background in payroll deployments/integrations in the Asia Pac region is vitally important.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Understanding and interpreting industrial instruments including awards, agreements and employment contracts to ensure correct application of pay rules
Managing the processing and payment of weekly wages and monthly salaries to ensure all employee entitlements are recorded
Ensuring tax compliance, obligations and state revenue office requirements
Participating in internal and external audits as required
Managing the integrity and confidentiality of the payroll system and process through monitoring and improving internal controls
Managing the processing of leave requests and leave reporting, ensuring accurate recording and application of leave take
Undertaking analysis of salary information to assist in the evaluation of salary levels
Calculating, managing and coordinating termination payments with relevant stakeholders
Managing the administration of company and member superannuation contributions to a range of funds
Your experience should ideally include: Extensive experience as a Payroll Manager within a large, complex environment
Qualifications in Finance or relevant business disciplines
Experience leading a dedicated team across a number of Asia Pac countries
Experience in the interpretation and application of industrial instruments
High level knowledge and proficiency in dual processing of wages/salaried employees
Comprehensive experience in a range of payroll systems including electronic time and attendance
Experience in payroll system conversions and implementations across Asia Pac highly regarded
