Aurizon is crucial to the Australian economy, connecting miners, primary producers and industry with international and domestic markets.About the role:As the Regional Operations Manager, you'll play a pivotal leadership role in our Central Queensland Coal Operations, reporting directly to the General Manager of our Coal South Region.
Your primary responsibilities will include:Leading a team of frontline leaders to deliver reliable, safe and cost-effective train services to our customers.Leading and implementing plans to create a sustainable safety culture.Actively managing people performance to drive a high level of technical and leadership capability.Working collaboratively across the broader region and contributing to the development of operational strategies and plans to optimise service delivery for our customers.Managing the operating budget for the region.Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and implementing plans to leverage these opportunities.About you:You are a seasoned leader with a proven track record of driving a safe and reliable operation, fostering an inclusive culture.Demonstrated safety leadership is what will set you apart from other candidates.Proven experience in leading and coaching front line leaders.Enthusiasm for the development of frontline operational teams.Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business or supply chain would be well regarded.Previous experience in a large-scale logistics or heavy industrial organisation, ideally in Rail Operations.A minimum of 5 years' experience in an Operational Management role.Able to demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence others and engage with a diverse range of people.Effective business acumen, strategic thinking and business planning skills.What we offer you:Development and growth opportunities.Access to mentoring and development programs.Discounts on selected health insurance funds, personal travel, gyms, vehicles and retail brands.Parental leave program and super booster.Look to Aurizon for a diverse and collaborative culture.At Aurizon, we are proud of our diverse, collaborative, creative and high-performance culture.
