The Regional Manager, Bushfire & Emergency Management is responsible for building and managing people, training, infrastructure and equipment capability to ensure FFOD can meet its emergency management obligations and have sufficient operational capability to support forest and fire program delivery at the District and Regional level.
Working closely with the State BEM Branch, the Regional Manager will lead a team of preparedness, capability and infrastructure experts to identify capability requirements and develop strategies to ensure these capability requirements can be met over the short, medium and long term.
As part of the Regional Leadership Team, the Regional Manager BEM will influence bushfire and emergency management strategies.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in natural resource management in regional Victoria with an emphasis on bushfire management, including readiness and response, prevention and suppression.Demonstrated knowledge of the issues facing regional Victoria and a vision for ensuring the department can deliver on government objectives.Current accreditation or ability to work towards obtaining accreditation for key AIIMs role or key command and control roles, including Regional Agency Commander (RAC) and/or Regional Controller.This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within the Loddon Mallee Region with hybrid work arrangements available.
