You will lead a team of professional Inspectors of Mines and carry out the functions of a Regional Inspector under the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 and Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999, to help ensure that the mineral mining and quarrying industry operates at an acceptable level of risk.

Key knowledge and experience Demonstrated experience in mining or quarrying and experience in leading teams to achieve strategic and operational outcomes.Highly developed communication, negotiation, influencing, analytical, problem resolution, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.Demonstrated ongoing professional development through networks and or/member of registered professional bodies or equivalent.Management or supervisory experience in mining or mineral processingA relevant degree (mining engineer/ electrical engineer / mechanical engineer) from a tertiary institution would be highly desirableFive years' experience in mining or quarrying of which at least two years have been in a supervisory roleA Queensland First Class Certificate of Competency for an underground mine or a similar mutually recognised certificate of competency recognised in Queensland, would be highly regardedCurrent Australian drivers' licence is essential for regular, regional travel.The role description will outline any qualifications, licences and specific requirements of the role.
