ATCO invites expressions of interest for a full-time, permanent position as a Regional Faults Response and Maintenance Technician. Based at our Kalgoorlie Depot and reporting to the Supervisor, this role offers a unique opportunity to be a key player in maintaining and responding to faults within our network.
What you will do
This varied and fulfilling role is responsible for undertaking various activities associated with the gas distribution network.
Your contribution and responsibilities:

Support faults and emergency response activities; residential and commercial meter changes and leak detection.
Undertake maintenance and construction activities associated with the gas distribution network in line with ATCO Gas Australia's Asset Management Plan and relevant policies and procedures.
Operate independently or as part of a small team.
Liaise with customers and other stakeholders to ensure that any disruption to supply or any work impacting customers is fully communicated and, where possible, minimised.
Participate in the "24/7 On Call Roster" at nominated intervals throughout the business cycle.
Operate machinery, equipment and tools in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
Ensure all activities and associated assets are recorded against correct cost centres to accurately cost all maintenance works and activities.
Undertake inspections of gas distribution assets and record and report any integrity, performance and functionality issues in accordance with company procedures.

What you will bring

Hold a current Class G Gasfitting Licence
Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with members of the general public, our contractors and our community.
Certificate III in Gas Industry Operations (or training can be provided)
Western Australia Construction White Card / Blue Card.
Current C class drivers licence (Medium Rigid (MR) Class Drivers Licence Desirable)
Certificate in Excavator Operation (Desirable)
Basic Worksite Traffic Management Certificate (Desirable)
