Job Description

An internal opportunity within our Finance team has created an exciting opening for a Regional Finance Director to join a progressive organisation with a strong, people-focused culture in Sydney.

In this senior leadership role, you will leverage your extensive finance expertise and proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders to drive financial performance, enhance commercial outcomes, and support strategic decision-making across the region.

As the Regional Finance Director, you will be responsible for leading the regional finance team, fostering career development and mentoring team members, while serving as the key business partner for regional leadership. Your role will focus on delivering project financial plans, improving commercial results and driving financial acumen across all phases of the project lifecycle.

Reporting directly to the ANZ Finance Director, you will also play a pivotal role in collaborating with operations and senior leadership to ensure the successful delivery of financial and business goals.

What will a day in this role look like: Collaborate with regional leadership to influence bid and pricing strategies, ensuring profitability and cash flow optimization.Lead the monthly close process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial reporting.Oversee revenue recognition in line with company policies and analyse overhead expenditures for the region.Develop and execute financial strategies that align with AECOM's regional and global objectives.Manage financial risks by anticipating challenges, analysing economic and commercial conditions and taking preventive measures.Ensure full SOX compliance, support annual audits, and maintain strong internal controls to protect the organization's financial integrity.Provide fact-based commercial insights, leveraging data from internal and external sources to guide strategic business decisions. Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualificationMember of CA/CPA preferredExtensive, demonstrable experience in a similar roleSolid understanding of accounting conceptsProject accounting experienceStrong attention to detailAbility to transform data into key insightsExperience in successfully leading a teamProficient in the use of MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
