Red Cross provides a number of aged and community care programs to support people as they age. Volunteers provide transport, visiting, meals, and welfare calls helping clients strengthen their capacity to participate in community life, maintain or regain independence, and stay living in their own home for longer.The Regional Engagement Volunteer is a dynamic and fun role that supports other volunteers, both new and existing with training and social events, speaks with local groups, community services and media to build awareness of Red Cross aged and community care services available and helps share and celebrate the impact our volunteers make every day of the year.The OpportunityFor this role you will need the ability to engage with other volunteers and members of the community at face-to-face and online events, including those with different lived experiences, abilities, and cultures, and provide information from and to Red Cross to support our volunteers and their impact in the community.All volunteers will need to complete a National Criminal Check. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world's largest humanitarian network.The ImpactAs a Regional Engagement volunteer, you will help volunteers and communities to support vulnerable people improve their social connection and quality of life by providing a positive and respectful service. In return, you will have the opportunity to meet many diverse people, as well as feeling the satisfaction of giving back to your community.You'll be part of the Red Cross Aged & Community Care team that works to support older and vulnerable people across Australia through a range of volunteer-based programs.Application RequirementsFor this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross.The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and/or Working with Vulnerable People Check (WWVP) depending on your State/Territory.
