Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards.
With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, along with an understanding of the challenges faced by Yolngu people in remote settings.
They should possess the ability to motivate staff and facilitate change in a high-pressure, culturally diverse environment.
Experience in CQI management, accreditation processes, and the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal communities are essential.
Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills are also required, as well as a willingness to travel frequently to remote communities.

Our clinics are located in Nhulunbuy, Gunyangara (also known as Marngarr), Galiwin'ku and Yirrkala, providing a walk-in service for all acute and preventive care needs.
In addition to these fixed clinics, our outreach teams provide a regular visiting service to a number of nearby communities including Birritjimi, Galupa, Gunyangara, Garrathiya Plains, Yirrkala, and within the Galiwin'ku community.
