Established in 1992, we're committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yol?u powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, along with an understanding of the challenges faced by Yolngu people in remote settings. They should possess the ability to motivate staff and facilitate change in a high-pressure, culturally diverse environment. Experience in CQI management, accreditation processes, and the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal communities are essential. Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills are also required, as well as a willingness to travel frequently to remote communities.
