About the role The Regional Controls Engineering Specialist serves as the backbone, providing essential technical expertise, documentation, and coordination to guarantee the efficient execution of engineering projects and processes.
This position entails providing leadership and technical expertise to all business lines in the region, controls engineers, and technicians, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and the optimization of building performance.
Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Mentor a team of controls engineers and technicians, providing guidance, coaching, and technical support to ensure high performance and professional development.Control Strategy Development: Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement advanced control strategies that optimize building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.System Integration: Coordinate the integration of building control systems with other building subsystems, such as HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management systems, to ensure seamless operation and interoperability.Provide comprehensive technical support to all business lines, addressing issues, inquiries, and offering guidance on technical matters to ensure smooth operations.Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate team members on new technologies, tools, and processes relevant to their roles, fostering skill development and efficiency.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to engineering activities, including safety regulations and quality standards, to mitigate risks and ensure legality.Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in engineering disciplines to drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives, such as energy storage solutions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive decarbonization strategies aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements, driving sustainability efforts.Monitor sites across the SAP region which are contracted as Performance Guarantee Contracts to identify any issues or opportunities for enhancing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions contributing to environmental sustainability.Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to address inquiries, provide technical assistance, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and community organizations, to foster collaboration and garner support for decarbonization initiatives, promoting collective action.Continuously evaluate and optimize decarbonization strategies and initiatives based on feedback, data analysis, and lessons learned, driving continuous improvement efforts to achieve sustainability goals effectively.Requirements We are looking for people who are experienced in HVAC Industry, and proficient in Building Automation Systems. As a minimum you must have:
Minimum 10+ years in HVAC industry with Chilled water and VRF product/engineering knowledge.Assist ASHRAE Level 2 audits and reporting M&V data.Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing building control systems, such as ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, and LEED.Program and configure control devices, such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Direct Digital Controllers (DDCs), and Building Automation Systems (BAS), to ensure proper operation and integration of HVAC equipment.Proficient in Open BACnet, CCN Best++, LON, Modbus, software and tools like AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and engineering analytics platforms.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and methods.Understanding of local building codes and regulations.Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.Previous experience in a technical support or engineering role preferred.Familiarity with regulatory requirements, quality standards relevant to the industry, and best practices related to decarbonization and sustainability.Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, energy systems, and carbon accounting methodologies.Commitment to environmental stewardship and driving positive impact through sustainable engineering practices.Benefits We are committed to offering competitive benefits programs for all of our employees and enhancing our programs when necessary.
