Our Cargo business in Australia is pivotal, linking Australian customers and partners with New Zealand and our extensive international network.
We're looking for a Regional Cargo Manager who is passionate about making connections and inspiring teams to achieve excellence. Air New Zealand is continuing to transform its Cargo's business into a competitive, efficient, modern day Cargo business – and the Regional Cargo Manager Australia is core to achieving these objectives.
You will be tasked with leading the team through a significant transformation period as well as focussing on the regional strategy.
This will be achieved through a clear focus on the customer, culture, commercial outcomes, operational complexities, quality and regulatory standards that are required to create a world class Cargo business.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a strong people leader with experience developing, motivating and aligning a diverse team.
You will bring 'Mana' to the role that will easily create a strong culture and respect with the team and other stakeholders as well as a true focus for the health, safety and wellbeing of your people.
Coupled with this leadership ability, you will have an obsession for a customer first approach, have an understanding of local and global trade, sales strategies and a passion for connecting customers to the world.
The Cargo business has large growth plans on the horizon, and as part of the global sales function, you will need to bring a transformational and growth-orientated mindset with a strong results orientation to help create and execute strategic plans.
Key responsibilities include: Strategic Sales Leadership: Create and drive sales strategies that are focused on growth and aligned with our customers' needs.People Leadership: Lead, empower, and inspire the Australia Sales and Operations team.
Champion a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and high performance where everyone feels valued.Guiding Change: Navigate the team through transformation with empathy and resilience, ensuring they feel supported and motivated to adapt and succeed.Ownership of Australia Cargo Sales & Operations: Oversee full P&L responsibility, ensuring operations are efficient, effective, and aligned with our goals.Building Connections: Forge and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, internal teams, and suppliers, always with a view to strengthening community ties and supporting local businesses.Market Insight and Innovation: Leverage insights and trends to shape innovative strategies that keep us responsive to customer needs and ahead of the curve.Our ideal candidate: Proven experience as a people-focused leader in sales or commercial management, with strong business acumen.Respected in the industry for not only your results but your commitment to building and supporting high-performance teams.A natural relationship-builder, able to coach, motivate, and inspire a diverse team to achieve their best.Adaptable and compassionate, skilled in guiding teams through change with a steady hand and a shared sense of purpose.Collaborative, with an ability to rally support and align teams around a common vision.Are you ready to lead and inspire?
