As our Regional Biosecurity Lead Central you will be responsible for driving high level strategic advice & engagement activities for Biosecurity Queensland. You will know you're achieving success in the role when you:
Are dedicated to successfully & strategically engaging with local governments, industry and the regional communities to support Biosecurity initiatives.Effectively advocate for Biosecurity Queensland's interests, provide advice & counsel to the Minister, Director-General and Chief Biosecurity Officer, and programs on Biosecurity matters.Are actively contributing & leading a high-performing regionally dispersed team.Manage, lead & champion high-level Biosecurity initiatives throughout the relevant regions.Establish a stronger ongoing regional presence for Biosecurity Queensland through the establishment of regional hubs.Biosecurity Queensland plays a vital role in securing the state's agricultural prosperity and preserving and protecting the health of our environment and economy. We are dedicated to safeguarding both human and animal health by preventing and mitigating plant and animal pests and diseases. We work tirelessly to uphold a high level of animal welfare standards and maintain access to interstate markets, critical for Queensland's thriving primary industries. Biosecurity Queensland monitors and regulates the application of agricultural and veterinary chemicals, ensuring they are used safely and in compliance with legislation. With a commitment to developing capabilities and preparedness, we are at the forefront of protecting Queensland against biosecurity risks.
Strategy, Investment and Performance (SIP) delivers a range of services to support Biosecurity Queensland (BQ). SIP partners with BQ program areas to provide specialised advice on best business practice and technology to serve internal (and sometimes external) customers and business stakeholders.
This position is available in the Central Regional boundary as per locality map. Please indicate your location preference for this role on your application. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
