Currently, we have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to join our Procurement team in Colac . Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Specialist, the Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing the timely and accurate generation of purchase orders to meet production and inventory holding requirements.
Note: whilst this role is located in Colac, flexible working arrangements are available.
Your responsibilities will include:
Release of POs to meet operational and inventory requirements in line with the Bulla Statement of Authority. Consistent provision of forecasts to suppliers with a clear understanding of when suppliers can produce to a forecast vs information for their internal planning needs. Updates to the business on supplier capacity & inventory holdings. Involvement in how new items are set up by procurement, having clarity on MOQ's throughout the supplier's conversion process and any price breaks. Timely update of new item master data to support the materials planning requirements. Periodic auditing of existing item master data for accuracy, e.g., safety stocks, MOQ, lead times, GR processing time etc. Day to day management of supply issues and opportunities to keep supply and demand in balance. Use of BI reports for day-to-day duties including; projected inventory report, supplier forecast, purchasing history, DIFOT etc. Materials non-conformance returns and credit management and escalation to the sourcing manager for serious or consistent non-conformances. Regular supplier KPI tracking and reporting. Periodic auditing of safety stock, using the calculated method as a guide. You will have:
3-5 years of experience in a purchasing role within FMCG. Experience in a materials planning function within an FMCG environment. An understanding of MRP and item Master Data principles and their role in MRP and PO management. An understanding of S&OP as a process with particular understanding of the meeting cycles and activities that support an effective material planning function. Detailed technical and working knowledge of the entire supply chain, preferably within an FMCG company. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Ability to travel to other Bulla sites as required. What we can offer you:
