About the Office of General CounselThe Office of General Counsel plays a vital role in providing the University with expert legal, compliance, and complaints management services.
Central to this is the Complaints Resolution Unit (CRU), which delivers a free, accessible, and impartial process for assessing and resolving complaints.

The CRU will decide the most appropriate way to try and deal with the complaint.
The CRU handles a wide range of issues, including administrative and process matters, behavioural and conduct matters, discrimination, sexual offence matters, and whistleblowing reports that involve varying levels of sensitivity and complexity.
These cases often involve high levels of complexity and sensitivity, requiring thorough investigations and fact-finding to achieve fair and objective outcomes.
The nature of the work in the CRU requires the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in managing complaints.
Staff are dedicated to ensuring impartiality, fairness, and respect for all parties, fostering a culture of unbiased investigation and decision-making.
Staff prioritise protecting the confidentiality and privacy of all individuals involved in the complaint process while creating a safe, supportive environment where people feel empowered to raise concerns without fear of retaliation or reprisal.

In this role, you'll have the chance to make a real impact, not just by receiving individual complaints but also by helping us identify patterns and opportunities for improvement across the University.
Your insights and recommendations will shape policies and processes that improve the experience for our entire community—students, staff, and beyond.
You'll work closely with various stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring that our approach to complaint management is consistent, fair, and collaborative.
