Our Cyber Security Assurance and Operations (CSAO) team is dedicated to maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our ICT systems, supporting the University's mission to enable positive academic, research, and business outcomes.
Based at our Parramatta or Hawkesbury campuses, with remote work options considered, CSAO is integral to our Information Technology and Digital Services unit, managing cyber security risks and incident responses to ensure a secure digital environment.
The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Cyber Security Risk Analyst to lead its cyber security risk and assurance activities.
This pivotal role ensures the University maintains a comprehensive understanding of its ICT risk landscape, addressing current and emerging cyber threats with agility and innovation.
As the Senior Cyber Security Risk Analyst, you will drive the development and implementation of enhanced risk assessment processes to safeguard the University's ICT environment.
Success in this role requires close collaboration with a broad range of internal stakeholders, as well as partnerships with other universities, government organisations, and industry leaders.
You will provide expert guidance on risk management, ICT system security, and the coordination of certification and accreditation activities.
The role involves analysing security risks, recommending strategic measures, and enhancing risk management approaches to align with evolving best practices.
You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in ICT security delivery, ensuring alignment with frameworks such as NIST, Essential Eight, and ISO 27001.
This position offers an opportunity to work at the forefront of cyber security within a dynamic academic environment, enabling the University to stay ahead of threats and maintain a secure, forward-leaning ICT framework.
About You You are an accomplished cyber security professional with extensive experience and a passion for driving innovation in risk management and assurance.
With expertise in analysing complex security risks, you excel at articulating solutions to diverse audiences and collaborating with stakeholders.
You hold tertiary qualifications, preferably at postgraduate level, in Cyber Security or a related discipline, coupled with extensive technical ICT experience and practitioner accreditation in a recognised framework.
Your ability to communicate cyber security concepts to stakeholders at all levels, both verbally and in writing, is exceptional.
You bring a deep understanding of relevant frameworks and best practices, including NIST, Essential Eight, ISM, ISO 27001, and the PSPF, with demonstrated ability to apply them effectively.
Your ability to influence, build relationships, and work collaboratively with senior executives and stakeholders is complemented by your commitment to maintaining and applying current knowledge of cyber security trends, threats, and frameworks.
You have a proactive and innovative approach to developing and improving business processes to ensure best-in-class cyber security outcomes.
