The Strategic Research Initiatives are cross-institutional centres of research focus with an emphasis on external collaborations, including research co-design, impact, and capacity building.UTRC is centred on the complex challenges posed by the contemporary urban environment, including the environment and climate emergency, healthy buildings, resilient communities, the circular economy, and the minimisation of waste and the reuse of materials. We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Project Coordinator to join our dynamic team at the Urban Transformations Research Centre. This role is pivotal in coordinating and implementing the project 'Managing resilient urban green spaces in Australian cities'.As the Research Project Coordinator, you will work closely with the Centre Manager, the Project Chief Investigator, and the research project team. Your primary objective will be to ensure the project is meticulously designed, planned, scheduled, and executed within time and financial constraints. This role is integral to supporting the University's commitment to high-quality research, addressing both internal and external issues related to Research Quality, Policy, and Planning.You will provide high-level project management and planning support, ensuring all aspects of the project are managed using approved methodologies and tools. You will oversee data and database management, and handle financial management tasks, including monitoring, reporting, forecasting, and negotiating with service providers.Effective communication and reporting are key components of this position. You will collaborate with the Project Chief Investigator to prepare essential project documents, develop timely and professional communications for the project team and partners, and ensure that all materials related to the project schedule and tasks are prepared for reporting and intellectual property protection purposes. Additionally, you will manage outward-facing digital communication channels, including website and social media content. Your role will also involve coordinating events such as project workshops and seminars, engaging with various stakeholder groups, including community and industry partners.This is a part-time position (21 hours per week, 0.6 FTE), fixed-term for 20 months, based at Western's Engineering and Innovation (Parramatta), although travel to campuses of the University may be required.About YouYou are a highly organised individual with a strong background in Humanities or Social Sciences, or you bring extensive professional administration experience in a research communications setting. Your proven track record in managing complex projects, from inception to completion, showcases your ability to handle multiple partners and track milestones effectively. You excel in creating professional business documents and project reports, with excellent writing skills and a knack for visual design, including web content. Your interpersonal skills are excellent, allowing you to liaise effortlessly with a diverse range of stakeholders.
