We are seeking an experienced Manager, Post-Award, Data and Systems to join the Research team at Western. In this leadership position you will oversee the establishment, financial, compliance management and operational success of all research, consultancy, and commercial projects. Your role is crucial in ensuring the successful establishment through to acquittal of research projects funded by government bodies, industry, community, and local government.As the Manager, you will lead a dedicated team who will contribute to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive research management and performance information and reporting system. This system will facilitate the efficient collection, analysis, reporting and secure storage of research performance data, essential for strategic benchmarking and goal setting across the University. You will also create and implement new reporting mechanisms to meet internal business needs, supporting individual researchers and academic units. Your responsibilities will include managing audit reporting and ensuring timely submission of project reports to funders. You will assist senior leaders in optimising reporting processes and provide regular staff development programs to ensure financial reporting and compliance are well understood.In this position, you will lead a team consisting of Research Contracts, Data, and Grants Officers, along with a Systems, Process Enhancement, and Innovation Coordinator, to deliver client-focused services to staff. Additionally, you will contribute to policy and process improvement by revising, preparing, and implementing new policies related to project and financial administration.This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Kingswood Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required.About YouYou are a qualified professional with a postgraduate degree and extensive experience in research management systems, publication bibliometrics, project finances, and research contracts. Your expertise in system design and implementation, along with your ability to prepare functional and technical specifications, data mapping, and high-quality testing sets you apart. You excel in leading teams to engage with researchers and external partners, ensuring effective management of funded research projects through all phases. Your strong delegation skills, exceptional communication abilities, and high-level analytical and problem-solving skills make you an invaluable asset. With a deep understanding of research costing and pricing, you are adept at managing quality assurance activities and drafting policy documents and reports using advanced reporting tools and electronic databases.If you're ready to join us in driving research excellence, we encourage you to apply.Remuneration Package: HEW Level 9 $155,690 to $166,265 p.a.
