A teaching assistant is needed for a special educational needs (SEN) school in North London for primary and secondary school students aged 7-16.
As a teaching assistant, you will be working with students with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) who have found mainstream education challenging and may have significant gaps in their education.
This school is easily accessible from around London, with great transport links.
Being a teaching assistant at this school, you will become part of a highly supportive team with exceptional senior leadership and fantastic resources.
Willingness to do personal care is preferred.
Your responsibilities as a teaching assistant may include:

Assisting lesson delivery for students with a range of learning difficulties and complex needs. This may include alternative teaching methods, such as Lego therapy and intensive interaction sessions. Helping students to develop confidence and independence. Implementing behaviour management techniques, which may include physical restraints, to maintain a positive and safe learning environment. Working with specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors, and psychologists. Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students. Establishing rapport and communicating regularly with parents and carers.
To be a teaching assistant, you will need:
The right to work in the UK. Experience working within a school environment. A clear and up-to-date DBS. Experience working as an SEN teacher in a UK school. A patient and 'can-do' attitude, committed to providing outstanding learning experiences.
