The Department Alfred Health will coordinate the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade-fundedRegional Emergency and Critical Care Systems Strengthening Initiative (RECSI) under its Regional Health Partnerships (RHP) scheme, commencing in July 2024. RECSI aims to build on the experience of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in relation to the need for local critical care capacity, and the value of resilient emergency care systems in detecting and responding to health emergencies. RECSI will also act as a mechanism for embedding the World Health Organisation's emergency care systems framework across the region and progressing World Health Assembly resolutions 72.16 and 76.2. The Role We have an exciting opportunity to join the Regional Emergency and Critical Care Systems Strengthening Initiative (RECSI) as the Nursing Advisor – Emergency Care. This brand-new role will contribute to a complex, multi-stream, multi-year projectthat aims to enhance emergency and critical care provision in Timor Leste, Papua New Guinea, and from Fiji as a hub for the Pacific Region. Based in Melbourne at The Alfred Hospital, the Nursing Advisor – Emergency Care will be responsible for the coordination and management of emergency care nursing activities across the project. Working closely with the Program Lead for Emergency Care, this role will provide strategic direction, lead activity implementation, and deliver technical advice regarding emergency care nursing activities for the program. Key Capabilities Experienced emergency nurse with demonstrated background and aptitude in international program or project management. As well as clinical expertise, the role requires well-honed skills in stakeholder engagement, evidence-based practice, proposal development, data analysis, cross-functional collaboration, cultural competency, and ethical practices.
