Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) has prison facilities located at Risdon Vale, Hobart, and Launceston. This position is based at Risdon Vale in the TPS Human Resources Section, located in the Training Building.The Risdon Vale site offers a corporate working environment without the hustle and bustle of city centre offices, free on-site parking and access to the on-site staff gym. The Training Building has an attached outdoor area where we can enjoy our lunchtimes, weather permitting! We are a short drive to local shops and services, however there is no need to worry about parking when you return as there is plenty (and did we mention it's free!?).The TPS Human Resources Section encompasses recruiting, training, rosters, absence management and general human resources support for the TPS. We are a small team and work closely and collaboratively with the Department of Justice's central human resources team, and other Outputs.Details of AppointmentFixed-term full-time day work working weekdays, 73.5 hours per fortnight from as soon as possible for a period of up to 12 months from the date of appointment or until the substantive returns, whichever is sooner.This is a great opportunity to work strategically, gain insight into the corrections environment, and contribute to the long-term objectives of the TPS.
