2 x Data Centre Technicians - Support core server refresh activities NV1 clearance required / NV2 clearance highly desirable Barton, ACT - Flexible hybrid work arrangements 12 + 12 + 12 month contracts Our client, a large Federal Government department based in Barton, ACT, requires two experienced Data Centre Technicians for long 12 + 12 + 12 month contract. The Data Centre Technicians will work on consolidation of infrastructure equipment within the Data Centres.
Undertake installation of equipment at the Data Centres. Undertake data cabling and server rack preparation. Assist in updating of technical inventory documents under direction. Utilise strong coordination and organisational skills with a high attention to detail. Technical skills Networking concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP and VLANS. Router and switch hardware. Electrical systems in a datacentre context. Proven cabling skills, including a high standard of cable management. Ability to audit and update rack diagrams and other documentation to a high standard. Selection criteria Working in a Data Centre environment or similar experience. Cabling, networking and server infrastructure, or the ability to learn this quickly. Microsoft office programs (e.g. Word, Excel). NV1 clearance is a mandatory requirement, with a preference for NV2. Experience with electrical equipment is desired but not essential.
