ROLE: Due to continuous growth & demand, we are seeking a highly motivated Recruitment Business Partner to join our close-knit HR team based in either our Sydney or Melbourne office.
This is a fantastic next step for a specialist recruiter with agency or in-house experience to gain hands-on exposure within a global law firm environment.
TEAM: Kennedys HR team supports the firm with all people related matters across Business Partnering, Diversity & Inclusion, CSR, Learning & Development, Operations, and Recruitment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Primarily responsible for end-to-end recruitment for legal professional roles; from Associate through to Special Counsel level on a national scale, in addition to business service roles on an ad-hoc basis.Driving a direct sourcing model – utilising platforms (such as LinkedIn & SEEK) to create a pipeline of candidates and enhance a direct network of candidates.Leverage from and build internal networks to seek candidate referrals.Proactively present marketing mapping activities LinkedIn projects to Partners/Hiring Managers to identify potential recruits.Provide ongoing external benchmarking and key industry trends to senior stakeholders and the wider HR team.Seamlessly manage the vacancy approval process for all recruitment requests in conjunction with finance and the local managing partner.Develop strong internal relationships with Partners and Hiring Managers by regularly holding service reviews and creating business plans to anticipate workforce planning needs or skill gaps.Work closely with the Recruitment & Early Careers Coordinator to manage the graduate program from start-to-finish by advertising, reviewing & scoring applications, shortlisting, collating feedback and supporting rotations ensuring supervision/mentorship is maintained effectively.Phone screening candidates, coordinating interviews and liaising with key stakeholders on selection criteria, collating feedback and providing a smooth recruitment process for candidates and internal stakeholders alike.Manage the ATS and ensuring it is accurate for candidate tracking and reporting activities.Provide temporary assistance with recruitment in the wider APAC region, where required.Manage the PSL - primary contact for external recruitment agencies for legal roles, provide briefs, monitor performance, negotiate rates etc.Work closely with the HR Coordinator to ensure all new joiners are onboarded in a timely manner and receive a first-class candidate experience.Work closely with the wider global recruitment team (APAC and UK) to share knowledge and ensure best practices are maintained globally.Ad-hoc project work including; process improvement, marketing initiatives and working with the Recruitment Manager to refine the EVP.Fully embrace the principles of diversity across all recruitment processes.Work with the Recruitment Manager to seek out innovative and cost-effective recruitment solutions for the Firm.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Mid-level internal or agency recruitment experience (Consultant or Advisor level), ideally within the legal or professional services space.Strong direct sourcing abilities – advanced user of LinkedIn Recruiter.Experience running a graduate program (or similar) would be highly advantageous.Previous experience using an ATS to manage the full life cycle of recruitment.A confident communicator with the demonstrated ability to build relationships with Partners and senior stakeholders.A legal or HR related qualification would be highly advantageous but is not essential.A quick-learner with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Organised and methodical, capable of prioritising & managing multiple roles at any one time.Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a natural flair for communication.A supportive team player who enjoys being part of a wider HR & Recruitment function.A genuine desire to learn and further a career at Kennedys.The closing date for applications is 31st January 2025 with shortlisting and interviews to commence in February.
