About the Opportunity The Shire of Denmark's Recreation Centre is seeking a suitably qualified and passionate individual to support the delivery of key strategic priorities. The Recreation Services Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and delivery of high-level customer service and programs for the Shire of Denmark Recreation Centre, as well as building capacity in the community sport and recreation sector.
This position is full time 76 hours per fortnight and will require flexibility to accommodate early and late closing hours.
Responsibilities of this Role includes: Manage the Recreation Centre facility and the delivery of Recreation Centre services effectively and efficiently within a continuous improvement environmentIdentify community sport and recreation needs and, within Councils budget constraints, initiate and facilitate innovative Recreation Centre projects, services and programs to address community needsBuild and strengthen internal and external Recreation Centre relationshipsProvide supervision and leadership of the Recreation Centre teamAbout You: Tertiary qualification in business, leisure, sport recreation or allied discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent competencies and knowledgeHigh-level organisational skillsHigh standard of public relations & interpersonal skillsHigh standard of written and oral communication skillsExperience in managing and leading staff in a range of customer service, administrative and program planning dutiesAbility to work autonomously and successfully manage a wide scope of work priorities.Computer literacy, MS Office, and keyboard skills.Experience working within a Local Government recreation facility (desirable)The Benefits: A generous salary of $85,000 plus 11.5% superannuation - Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government Industry Award 2020 (State Industrial Instrument).Additional superannuation matching up to 5%Working with the supportive team in Community DevelopmentGreat opportunity providing challenging and varied scope of worksIdyllic location, "living the dream" amongst lush forests, beautiful coastal and river environments providing an excellent work life balance.If you have any questions about the position, Employee Support & Culture can be contacted on (08) 9848 0305.
