Recreational Officer (Diversional Therapist)Permanent part-time, 38 hours per fortnight (2 x positions available)Parklands Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) is an aged care service within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service which provides high level residential care to 70 residents including 30 places for residents with dementia. The Ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: Ability to plan and implement the resident activities program in consultation with the PRACF residents, family and other relevant health professionals. Ability to interact with residents on an individual and group level maintaining awareness of cultural and spiritual needs. Coordinate and liaise with Volunteer services and community organisations. Develop and manage a quality approach to the planning and co-ordination of resources. Implement and evaluate changes within the Department systems. Maintain written documentation in accordance with Aged Care Funding model (AN-ACC) and guidelines in Documentation and Accountability Manual.

value up to $45,055 p.a. comprising: Salary range of $37.25 to $39.83 p.h. (CA4) Annual leave with 17.5% loading 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check - As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld). Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate. Highly Desirable: Applicants who meet one of the following criteria are considered highly desirable: Graduate Certificate IV in Health and Community Services (Diversional Therapy). Must have completed 12 months post-grad internship. While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be regarded. Driver licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty. This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis. Probation period may apply. Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
