Your role As an Army Recovery Mechanic you'll be trained to operate a variety of specialist trucks and armoured recovery vehicles, with both wheels and tracks. This exciting and varied job will see you using winches, cranes and towing gear to salvage, recover and tow damaged or disabled vehicles and equipment. Your duties include, but aren't limited to: Using recovery vehicles and equipment along with your training in recovery theory to work out how to retrieve/extricate immobilised manoeuvre assets (wheeled and tracked). This may involve the use of winches, cranes, gas cutting equipment and even explosives to get the job done Providing assistance over rough going and/or boggy terrain in order to keep the fighting force advancing towards the objective. Providing technical maintenance of Army's lifting, recovery and tie-down equipment. General soldiering duties, such as manning defensive positions, patrolling, traffic control, camouflaging of vehicles and field equipment, and navigation. Upon commencing training, your starting salary will be approximately $56,385 per annum plus 16.4% superannuation and your pay will increase as you progress through training. On completion of your initial military training and initial employment training, you could earn $80,549 per annum plus generous super.
