Troocoo are currently assisting a large Queensland State Government Department recruit their new Records Management Officer. The Records Management Officer will be responsible for appropriate appraisal, sentencing and transfer to State Archives of large volumes of physical departmental records to ensure compliance with Queensland State Archives approved Schedules and relevant Departmental policies and procedures.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide a high level of administrative support to the project team. This role is commencing ASAP until June 2025 with opportunity to extend!

This role will be located in Brisbane CBD, Queensland.

About the role: Participate proactively with major programs at state-wide level and of critical importance to the department, operating within broad policy guidelines, with responsibility for a service wide function, including but not limited to: Appraisal, sentencing and transfer of large volumes of physical departmental records received from school environments for processing by the Enterprise Information Services team. Providing accurate advice to administrative staff regarding the identification of records for transfer to Queensland State Archives for permanent retention. Accurate interpretation of authorised retention and disposal schedules. Undertaking required project activities including providing progress reports, identifying risks, liaise with project management and information management staff, and act as the accountable senior archivist in supporting staff to prepare and dispose of records. Provide advice and recommendations to ensure compliance with Queensland Government legislation, policies and procedures relating to recordkeeping, information management and information governance in the public sector. Prepare reports, briefing notes, presentation and correspondence for consideration by project and records management. Work autonomously as well as contribute to a team environment. Undertake all work in full compliance with relevant departmental policies and acting at all times with full integrity and professionalism as a representative of the Enterprise Information Services Records Management team, and the department. About you Previous experience in records management within a large team Government experience is highly regarded Ability to provide high-quality administrative support with strong attention to detail Government systems experience across correspondence Strong organisational skills and ability to manage work priorities Benefits: Attractively hourly rate of $65.22 p/hour + super Long-term contract!
