Katherine Town Council is the Municipal Council for the town of Katherine, located in the Northern Territory. Often called the 'Crossroads of the North' because of its location, Katherine is the fourth largest town in the Northern Territory and is located 312km south-east of Darwin on the banks of the Katherine River.Katherine Town Council delivers Municipal Services to the Katherine Community, including providing Library services, Airport Management, Waste & Recycling, Roads & Infrastructure, Cemetery, Animals and Regulatory Services, Community events, and more!Katherine Town Council is a small organisation of approximately 65 employees that work harmoniously together to ensure Council delivers friendly and efficient services to the residents of Katherine. The Council collaborates with many external organisations to ensure Katherine is continuously growing and improving.About the PositionIn this newly created role, Council is seeking someone with great organisation skills, the ability to interpret and apply legislation, and provide training to staff on our records management system. The role will also administer a range of leases and licenses for Council facilities and assist with Freedom of Information Requests.About the PersonAs well as great attention to detail and organisational skills, you'll be able to problem-solve and apply technical knowledge of applicable legislation to our Council document management system. You'll be able to see the flow of information throughout Council, identify ways to streamline and standardise our information for easy access and control. You'll understand confidentiality, retention, and destruction and have a passion for digitalised information.
