Your Role Reporting to the Chief Mission Integration Officer (CMIO), who is the Executive Sponsor of St John of God Health Care's (SJGHC) Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), the Reconciliation Program Manager will coordinate the effective implementation of the organisation's RAP and support the RAP deliverable owners with insights and recommendations.
In this new and exciting role within the organisation, the Reconciliation Program Manager will work with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen relationships, partnerships and networks at a local and national level, particularly amongst a broad range of SJGHC stakeholders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations.
Drawing on a strong understanding of the importance and uniqueness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their cultures, knowledge and experiences, the Reconciliation Program Manager will provide advice and support with regard to strengthening cultural awareness and competence across SJGHC.
The Position Lead the coordination and implementation of SJGHC's RAP, in collaboration with the CMIO.Coordinate the SJGHC National RAP Working Group.Monitor RAP activities to ensure timelines are being met and that activities are consistent with best practice approaches to reconciliation.Provide advice, support and practical recommendations to internal stakeholders to enable them to carry out their specific deliverables within the RAP.Support caregivers' awareness and knowledge of reconciliation, cultural protocols of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their cultures and histories.Establish and maintain internal relationships with key stakeholders to share ideas, resources and learnings to enable a collaborative approach to RAP implementation.Consult with Elders, community leaders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, caregivers and consumers to ensure that RAP activities incorporate a diverse range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices and perspectives.Prepare and deliver presentations to a range of audiences, facilitate workshops and participate in the education and promotion of reconciliation within SJGHC and with external stakeholders.You will have a demonstrated understanding of the RAP program and the development and implementation of RAPs within a large organisation. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering the program at SJGHC and achieving high quality outcomes.
To succeed in this role you will have a high level of understanding and lived experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories, with a demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively.
