Why this role matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia's largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs, including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.
The Bridge Program is a Tasmania-wide service for help overcoming and recovering from addictions related to Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs. There are 12 residential beds and four transitional units. The centre is close to St John's Park and is set on six acres of grounds, with a community garden, arts centre, gymnasium, and commercial kitchen.
About the role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to provide receptionist duties to the Bridge Centre and assist in the administration of the payment of client rents and general bookkeeping requirements.
Reporting to the Business Lead, this is a max-term (until June 2025), part-time (26.4 hours per week) position based in New Town, Tasmania. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 2.
You will successfully Answer phone calls in a timely and courteous manner. Assist the AOD team and support workers with administrative tasks such as accounts, services, and general information. Liaise with contractors and services in a professional and courteous manner. Order food for the centre and programs. You will have Office Administration Certificate IV or equivalent experience. A current Tasmanian Employee Work with Vulnerable People card. A current Tasmania Driver Licence.
