Why this role matters The Doorways program provides person-centred care to community members experiencing financial or other forms of hardship through the provision of financial and material emergency relief.
About The Role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to provide reception and administrative support to the Doorways Program.
Reporting to the Doorways Coordinator, this is a Max-Term (until June 2025), part-time (20 hours per week) position based in Glenorchy, Tasmania.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 2.
You will successfully Answer and respond to incoming calls and greet community members/visitors arriving in person.Provide support to community members trying to access Emergency relief or casework.Work effectively with community members in collaboration with other Doorways volunteers and the Doorways Caseworker.Attend Doorways team site meetings as scheduled and take meeting minutes and distribute as required.Maintain the filing system and ensure that strict confidentiality is maintained within the Privacy Act legislation.You will have A current and paid Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Check.An understanding of those who are most marginalised in our community, and how to communicate with a broad range of people.Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office, Online Information Systems, etc.Ability to work under pressure and to manage those who present with challenging and difficult behaviours.What We Offer As a registered NFP we offer our eligible employees real and meaningful benefits such as:
