Position Title: Receptionist/Administration Officer
Reports to: Principal and/or their delegate
Location: St Michael's Lutheran Primary School, Hahndorf, Adelaide Hills & Barossa SA
Tenure: Permanent part-time with a 12-week probationary period
Classification: Lutheran School Support Officer Level 3.1
Working Hours: 8.15am – 4pm (7.25 hours per day including a 30-minute lunch break)
Working Days: 4 days per week (40 weeks term time, 3 weeks non-term time)
Salary: $31.80–41.40 per hour
Commencement Date: Negotiable but as near as possible to January 20th, 2025
Role DescriptionThe Receptionist/Administration Officer will work in a small admin team, providing front-desk reception and administrative support to the school. This role ensures smooth communication between parents, students, staff, and visitors, serving as the first point of contact for the school.
Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesWelcome visitors, parents, and students in a courteous and professional manner.Manage incoming phone calls and emails, handling general inquiries and providing information about the school.Manage student attendance reporting and absence notifications.Oversee visitor check-in/check-out processes and maintain visitor logs.Maintain calendar bookings for visiting specialists and manage general office supplies.Assist school staff in administrative tasks related to camps, excursions, and events.Maintain certification for First Aid in line with school requirements and administer basic first aid as needed.Employee SpecificationEssential CharacteristicsRelevant qualifications in administration, customer service, or equivalent experience.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Proven experience in a receptionist or customer service role.Desirable CharacteristicsAdditional qualifications in customer service or office administration.Experience with school-specific administration software.Understanding of visitor management and school security protocols.Application ProcessApplicants are required to:
