We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Rebates Accountant to join the Rebates & Rewards Finance team on a full-time permanent basis.
About the opportunity:
Reporting to the Rebates & Rewards Manager, this position is responsible for managing the rebate component of supplier trading agreements to ensure accurate and timely accrual, reconciliation and collection of rebates, & provide accurate reporting on supplier rebates and associated programs.
The role also involves supporting with P&L and Balance Sheet forecasting and analysis, together with providing assistance to the wider network in relation to rebates & rewards.
This is a hybrid role offering the flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week, in addition to an engaging and supportive team environment within our modern and comfortable head office in Docklands, Melbourne.
Key responsibilities include: Rebate Program maintenance – Ensure timely and accurate recognition of rebates and associated activities in line with best practice accounting principles and in support of required commercial outcomes.Liaise with key stakeholders to communicate key information, respond to queries, assist in resolving discrepancies etc.Supplier payment processing, clearing and review (Credit notes, EFT's, Deductions).Supplier Invoice processing and review.Reconciliation & clearing of GL accounts.Prepare and post necessary rebate calculations (e.g. accruals, distributions, forecasts, reconciliation entries, etc.) in a timely manner in accordance with business requirements.Evaluate transaction data and report to management on a monthly / quarterly basis.Identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies, including communicating with key stakeholders as required.About you: To be successful in this role you have demonstrated experience in an accounting role within a large corporate environment. We are also seeking the following skills and experience:
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline and possession of (or working towards) a CA/CPA qualification.Previous experience working with supplier rebates programs and strong rebates process experience is highly desirable.Previous experience with SAP is highly desirable.Experience with management reporting systems like TM1 and data visualisation tools such as Power BI is highly desirable.Strong proficiency in financial modelling and expertise in building dashboards is highly advantageous.Excellent analytical skills and a sound understanding of accounting principles, with the ability to interpret complex data.Ability to multi-task, work independently, and work effectively in a team environment.Comfortable working under pressure with demonstrated experience in a fast-moving environment with high transactional volumes.Excellent business communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence, communicate and engage with stakeholders at all levels.What we offer you!
