This role is an Australian based fully work-from-home position, with access to co-working spaces in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
Job DescriptionThe Real World Evidence (RWE) Specialist is a pivotal role within Montu's new medical affairs department, responsible for advancing clinical evidence and insights to enhance the experience of patients and healthcare providers.
This role will drive Montu's evidence-based approach by leveraging our extensive internal data, supporting data generation strategies through project design, analysis, and publication of real-world evidence (RWE) studies.
Working closely with the Data and Analytics team and cross-functional partners, the RWE Specialist will uncover valuable clinical insights regarding treatment efficacy, patient outcomes, and product-specific attributes to inform both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic insights to optimize medication use and applicable healthcare technologies.Establish Montu as a leader in real-world evidence and analytics within the medicinal cannabis industry.Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and the ability to develop and support relationships internally as well as with key external stakeholders.Contribute to the epidemiological and clinical knowledge base for medicinal cannabis treatment in Australia.Develop and guide the RWE strategy and tactical plans for targeted patient groups.Design and execute RWE studies, including protocol development and rigorous analytical planning.Analyse clinical data to support market access, health economics, and RWE objectives.Ensure high standards in data validation and testing to prevent misinterpretation of findings.Coordinate with external vendors, providing protocol guidance and analysis clarification as needed.Prepare and present reports on findings and project updates.Ensure accuracy and reproducibility of deliverables through robust documentation and quality controls.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to interpret and communicate RWE findings effectively.Drive innovation in study design by exploring new data sources and advanced analytical methods.Balance multiple RWE projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.Willingness to travel as required for conferences and meetings.QualificationsOur RWE Specialist role requires a skilled professional with strong expertise in epidemiology, health services, or outcomes research, ideally with hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a similar field.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing, analysing, and publishing RWE studies, collaborating across internal teams, and engaging with external stakeholders to drive impactful research.
This role is suited for someone with a deep understanding of the Australian healthcare landscape and a passion for advancing data-driven solutions to support patient care and prescriber needs.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Master's degree or PhD in Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, or related field; or Doctoral trained professional (PhD, PharmD, MD) with emphasis in health services research.
Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.Proven experience delivering RWE projects from conceptualisation to publication within the pharmaceutical industry or recognised expert consultancy/academic centre.Strong expertise in epidemiology, health services, or outcomes research, with hands-on experience in data extraction, organisation, and analysis from various sources (e.g., databases, electronic medical records, disease registries).In-depth knowledge of the Australian healthcare environment, applicable regulations in pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacovigilance, and clinical development.Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences, including senior management and industry professionals.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Proficiency in strategic thinking, innovative problem-solving, and project management in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to travel as required for conferences and meetings.Additional InformationYou'll be joining a highly motivated, agile team where your ideas and work will directly influence the direction and progress of an expanding global company in a hyper-growth phase.
