Rates Recovery Officer

Public Sector People are working with a local Government Department who are looking for an experienced Rates Recovery Officer to join their team on an initial 12 month contract basis.
Long Term 12 Month Contract with potential extension $39 per hour plus super with full time working hours Free on-site parking We're seeking a dedicated Rates Recovery Officer to join our clients dynamic team.
This role involves managing and recovering outstanding rates, ensuring compliance with Council policies and procedures, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities: Debt Recovery: Conduct interviews with ratepayers to assess their financial situations and develop tailored payment plans.
Provide expert advice and guidance to ratepayers on their payment options and obligations.
Account Management: Monitor and track overdue accounts, ensuring timely follow-up and escalation of high-risk cases.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all debt recovery activities, including correspondence, payment plans, and legal actions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, such as finance, legal, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination and efficient debt recovery.
Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to inquiries, resolving issues, and demonstrating empathy and understanding.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline debt recovery processes and improve efficiency.
Implement innovative solutions to enhance the effectiveness of debt recovery strategies.
Compliance: Adhere to all relevant legislation, regulations, and Council policies and procedures.
