Permanent/Full Time PositionAccess to Councils Variable Working HoursAbout the role
This is a full-time position working 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm) and will be based at Nowra Administration Building, Bridge Road, Nowra. The Rates Officer services Council's ratepayers and other internal and external customers by maintaining records and registers relating to rates, charges and effective day-to-day operations of the Revenue Unit Team.
Duties
Reporting directly to the Manager - Revenue, this role is part of a team whose primary focus is to:
Respond to all enquiries and information relating to Rates in a timely mannerMaintain the accuracy of rate account balances in response to part-year rating of rates and annual charges, adjusting journals and processing refundsUpdate and maintain customer contact details and pensioner rebate applicationsMaintain and process direct debit payments for rate paymentsPrepare and process 603 certificate applicationsProcess and verify Notice of Sale and TransfersTo be successful in the position, you will possess: Certificate III in Business Administration or relevant experience in a rating environmentProof of Australian residency or citizenshipDemonstrated ability to work independently and contribute to team goalsProven sound keyboard and data entry skills in various computer programsAbility to provide customer service solutions in a diplomatic and timely mannerAbout Shoalhaven City Council
