#529775 Rapid Response Coordinator Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Calvary Mater Newcastle Permanent Part-Time Permanent Part-Time (0.5, 20 hours per week)Salary Classification: Clinical Nurse Specialist, Grade 2, Yr 1 -2.Remuneration: $57.11-$58.98 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging optionsTHE ROLE: Operating from Critical Care Services - Intensive Care, you will drive, maintain and develop the hospital's CERS system through data collection, reporting, quality development, and education. You will liaise with stakeholders to build relationships, coordinate responses to incidents, and ensure the hospital meets Standard 8 - Recognising and Responding to Acute Deterioration.
DUTIES: Develop and maintain networks within multidisciplinary teams across the hospital to ensure effective provision of the hospital-wide Clinical Emergency Response System (CERS), which is a two-tiered emergency response system encompassing Urgent Clinical Review (UCR) and the Rapid Response Team (RRT) System.Provide education and information to staff, patients, and carers regarding the functioning of the CERS program and the deteriorating patient.Maintain clinical skills by attending RRT calls and providing some direct patient care as needed in times of high demand for the RRT service.Act as a mentor and provide rounding to staff post RRT call.Review and evaluation of patients post UCR and RRT as required.Participate in the orientation of hospital staff (clinical and non-clinical) in the recognition and management of the deteriorating patient training.Coordinate and present the DETECT and Allied Health DETECT programs, which includes the recruitment and training of DETECT trainers, CMN department/ward managers, liaison with HNEAHS Clinical Governance regarding program content and maintenance of training records.Maintain networks within Hunter New England Area Health Service (HNEAHS) by participation in the HNEAHS Recognising and Responding to Acute Deterioration Committee (RAD).Act as an assessor for BLS and ALS.Compile and review monthly clinical indicator data in consultation with the Intensive Care Executive, entering monthly data via SmartAviewer.ABOUT YOU: Registered Nurse authorised to practise by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Relevant post-registration qualifications in Critical Care and at least three years' experience working in a critical care area post qualification.Recent experience working as part of a Rapid Response Team in an acute hospital setting.Excellent clinical skills, knowledge, and the ability to respond appropriately to the deteriorating patient.Current Advanced Life Support Certification.Demonstrated experience in Quality Improvement Activities.Excellent communication, computer, and interpersonal skills.
