The Walking Track Ranger will maintain the Grampians walking track network, including the Grampians Peaks Trail, focusing on built infrastructure, visitor facilities, and environmental upkeep. This active, field-based role requires a high level of fitness and teamwork to support exceptional park management and visitor engagement.Opportunity to work outdoors in the scenic Grampians region, contributing to conservation and visitor enjoyment.Build hands-on skills in asset management, environmental maintenance, and visitor services.Join a supportive team with a shared commitment to exceptional park management and sustainability.About the roleThe Walking Track Ranger will deliver park services as directed by the Ranger Team Leader to enable efficient and effective delivery in accordance with the Regional Action Plan. The Ranger will undertake activities requiring an understanding of asset management, visitor service, and land management practices and principles.The role is responsible for delivering a wide variety of works across the Grampians Walking track network including supporting the successful operation of the Grampians Peaks Trail. The primary focus of the position is to maintain built infrastructure and visitor facilities, including signage, maintaining vegetation and drainage infrastructure on walking tracks, servicing and maintenance at remote campsites, as well as visitor engagement.The position will primarily work in the field and will require a high level of fitness to audit and maintain walking tracks. The Ranger will actively participate in the delivery of area-wide priorities and operate well in a team environment. The Ranger will be adaptable and flexible to on-ground service requirements to ensure exceptional park management and will be accountable for personal performance demonstrating a strong personal work ethic.We're looking for someone with:Demonstrated practical skills in the maintenance and operation of machinery, equipment, and tools.Accreditation, skills, and experience in 4WD operation and chainsaw crosscut highly desirable.Demonstrated skills in the maintenance and construction of park assets such as signs, campgrounds, fences, and walking tracks.Demonstrated experience in customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.The incumbent must be available to work weekends and public holidays if required.Your application will need to include:A Current ResumeFor a confidential discussion about the role, call Andrea Witty on 0473 658 532 or apply online!If you don't hold every skill or experience detailed above, please don't rule yourself out.
